Start Robolab and choose the Programmer option.

Double click Inventor 3

Two main windows will open up.  The top one is not used, but cannot be closed.  You can minimise it if you want.

The lower section is where you write your programs.

Your programs must always start with the green light and finish with the red light.

If you click in your programming area, the functions palette will open up.

If your functions palette disappears, you can get it back by choosing Window > Show Functions Palette from your programming window.

The Tools Palette

If the tools palette is not visible, then choose Window > Show Tools Palette.

The arrow tool is used for selecting items in the programming window.

The connect wire tool is used for joining icons in your program.

Note: Because these two tools are used most frequently, pressing space bar toggles between them.

Functions Palette Submenus

The icons in the lower part of the functions palette open up more options for the main menus.  They are Wait for, Structures, Modifiers and Music.

If you right click on one of them, you will see the pop out menu with a push pin in the corner.  Clicking on the push pin will leave the panel open on your desktop to make working easier.

Context Sensitive Help

From the menus, choose Help > Show context help

Then when you hold your mouse over an icon, the help window will tell you how to use that tool.
