When you save your CMaps, you can save them to CMaps in
My Computer, which by default is a folder called My CMaps in your My
Documents folder. If you want to collaborate on your CMaps, or share them so that others can see them, you need to save them to a CMap server. There are a number of public servers available for worldwide use, however if you are located behind a firewall, they may not be visible. There is information available on the CMap website at http://cmap.ihmc.us/Support/FAQs.php on how to configure your firewall to allow you to see CMap servers. If you are a Tasmanian school and want to set up your own server, contact the IT department at New Town High School for technical information. Working Together on a CMapFirst you need to create yourself a folder on a server. In views, right click and create your folder. Permissions are set on folders, not individual files within the folder. Normally you will have administrative access over your folder, and others will have read access. To give others permissions to work with you on CMaps, right click on your folder and choose Properties. You can either create a username and password that you give to all users, or you can ask them to enter their username and password. To collaborate on a CMap, the owner of the CMap should open it, and commence work on it.
