Adding materials gave us a colour on our object, but sometimes we want to have a texture as well to make it look a bit more realistic.

Select your object Open the textures |

You won't see many buttons yet - we need to create a texture. Press and hold down the menu button on the toolbar |

Choose ADD NEW (More buttons should appear!) |

Click on the menu arrow under Texture Type. Choose Stucci |

Then adjust the settings until you have a texture that you like. |

Render your image (F12) - the texture won't show yet. |

Return to the materials buttons, On the right-hand side, select the “Map To” tab |

Select Nor (it should be dark blue with white writing) |

Then render again (F12). You should have a nice shiny textured surface on your object. Explore the other textures (F6), especially Noise, Image and Blend. |
