The title 'ICT Mindtools' is designed to bring a focus on uses of ICT where students are required to use higher order thinking skills to become creators, rather than just consumers, of ICT products.
Over a number of years, some parts of this website have had input resulting from 4 Australian Government projects that provided some funding for resource development:
- Intelligent Island Enterprising ICT Learning Strategies Project
- The Boys' Education Lighthouse Schools Project
- The Australian Schools' Innovation in Science, Mathematics and Technology
- SiMERR Project - Science, Information and Communication Technology, and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia
It has since been broadened to include other resources to support the teaching of ICT as a discipline in its own right and also to support the use of ICT across a range of subject areas. Continued development of the site occurs in erratic bursts in 'free time' on weekends and in school holidays.
